EPE Department has Organized Two week Training 

on ‘Industry Oriented Integrated Automated Professional Training’ For B Tech Electrical Engineering Students 

 Department of Electrical, Power and Energy, UPES has a state of art advanced automated lab at energy acres campus, Dehradun, India equipped with latest equipment on protection and SCADA software as followed in industries. As part of IEEE student professional chapter various technical events, professional training and fest were conducted. Two week training was given to students at par with industry by industry expert and lead application engineer, Dr. Dinesh Babu and internal faculty Dr. Isaac to B Tech III year Electrical Engineering students. 

As a first step, training began with a classroom session on basics of automation and switchgear crotection followed by hands-on in laboratory. Career development on topics such as advanced relay software setting, SCADA, PLC and industrial automation procedures and protocols. Students were encouraged to work on the advanced numerical relays procured from GE, Germany. Real time scenarios were created as done in high voltage substation and power stations. As the next step we are planning to make an advanced training hub for students and professionals in and around Dehradun and connecting cities.
